I SAW YOU AT THE LAST DAY OF THIS IS FOR YOU FEST. DARK BROWN HAIR, TAN SKIN. YOU WERE WEARING BLUE VANS, BLACK SHORTS, BLUE PLAID SHIRT. YOU HAD A MASSIVE GREEN BACKPACK. YOU WERE AT A MERCH TABLE NEXT TO ONE WITH TWO RED HEAD GIRLS MOST OF THE NIGHT. ANYWAYS.. I THOUGHT YOU WERE INCREDIBLY GOOD LOOKING AND NEVER GOT AROUND TO TALKING TO YOU.

On looking at Calvary Assembly's website it appears their outreach ministry is more of just giving bicycles to children and adults in need rather than having them work on them and fix them up with assistance. In other words there is a lack of sharing in knowledge of how to fully empower the receiver with the use of alternative transportation.

I'm not going to knock them for doing what they do because I think it's an awesome calling, and getting more people on bikes especially those that really need them is awesome!

I will say this Jeromey, as I'm someone who's experienced what I will call inter-goal blockades it's a shame that such activties and mindsets exist.

Inter-goal blockades came from two or more groups who come from differing beliefs in this case a group who identifies as Christians, and a group that doesn't claim any specific religous affiliation. In my scenerio it was a group, who will go unnamed, of activist folks who felt they "could do it all" when it came to repairing people's lives and a group who knew they could only teach people to repair/build homes.

On both sides there was reluctance to cooperate with one another even though you could say they had the same main goal. In our case that goal is allowing people to have affordable, environmentally friendly means of transportation in the forms of bicycles.

I'm not proposing that we work with Cavalry Assembly unless that's something that the group wants to do, but I feel as a bicycle club that believes in the end of automobile culture and the end of excessive consumption of non-renewable natural resources it's not a bad idea to stand in solidarity with people that are "doing what they can" on empowering people in that situation even if it is a bit different then our methods.
